Application by Brent Police to review the premises licence for 'G Foodstore' (1-3 Glengall Road London NW6 7EL) pursuant to the provisions of the Licensing Act 2003
This application was adjourned at the Alcohol and Entertainment Licensing Sub-Committee (C) meeting on 12 February 2013.
Decision:
Having considered the application by Brent Police to review the premises licence for ‘G Foodstore’ (1-3 Glengall Road, London, NW6 7EL) pursuant to the provisions of the Licensing Act 2003 the Sub-Committee resolved that the premises licence be suspended for three months and with amendments to conditions on the licence.
that the following conditions be amended to the premises licence:
(i) Condition 2 be amended to read ‘Challenge 25 policy shall be adopted and adhered to.’
(ii) Condition 6 be amended to read ‘No high strength beers, lagers, and ciders above 5.5% ABV shall be stocked.’
(iii) Condition 10 be amended to read ‘The premises shall be staffed by a minimum of 2 persons after 18:00 hours, one of which must be a personal licence holder.’
The Alcohol and Entertainment Licensing Sub-Committee (A) acknowledged the concerns raised by Brent Police in their application for review with regard to prevention of crime and disorder, public safety, ensuring public safety, prevention of public nuisance and protection of children from harm and the various breaches of the licence that had been reported by them, including stocking cheap beers in excess of 5% ABV, selling alcohol to an intoxicated customer and selling alcohol to an underage person . In view of these serious breaches of the licence, it was felt that the conditions above needed to be added to the premises licence in order to help the licensee uphold the licensing objectives (prevention of crime and disorder, prevention of public nuisance, ensuring public safety and protection of children from harm).
The Alcohol and Entertainment Licensing Sub-Committee (A) also added an informative that the premises licence holder and his staff undertake refresher training on managing licensed premises.
