Purpose:
Following review and approval of the Re-Opening High Streets Safely Fund Grant Action Plan by the Cities and Local Growth Unit, LB Brent is now required to enter into the Grant Funding Agreement in order to receive the ERDF funding allocated.
Decision:
That the Operational Director Regeneration, Growth and Employment:
i) Approves the Council’s entry into a Grant Funding Agreement for ERDF funds to deliver the work as set out in the Re-opening High Streets Safely Fund Grant Action Plan to enable the Council to draw down grant funding quarterly in arrears before 31 March 2021.
Reasons for the decision:
Signing the Grant Funding Agreement would enable the Council to access the ERDF funding for delivery of work set out in the Re-opening High Streets Safely Fund Grant Action Plan.
Alternative options considered:
The alternative option would be to not sign the Grant Funding Agreement and not be eligible for the ERDF funding. This would limit the delivery of work Officers consider necessary to reopen high streets and would impact Council finances, therefore the option was discounted.
