Purchase of 115 Affordable Homes from Phase 2 of the Grand Union Development
This decision is seeking approval for the purchase of 115 affordable homes from Phase 2 of the Grand Union development in Alperton.
Decision type: Key
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Wards affected: Alperton;
Notice of proposed decision first published: 17/03/2022
This decision will be taken under urgency procedures.
Reason for urgency:
The reason that the urgency procedures are required is because the GLA grant award for this scheme is dependent upon achieving a start on site before June 2022. This means that completion of the deal between Brent and the developer must take place before then. It is not possible to wait until Cabinet in May and risk the loss of the GLA grant for this scheme.
Whilst it is possible to provide at least 5 days advance notice of the decision, it has not been possible to provide the full period of notice (including that the report will need to be considered as part exempt) and prior to this month (March 2022) it was not anticipated that Brent would be in a position to purchase these homes.
Anticipated restriction: Part exempt - View reasons
Decision due: 11 Apr 2022 by Cabinet
Lead member: Cabinet Member for Housing
Lead director: Strategic Director - Community Well-being
Department: Community Wellbeing
