Reason for urgency:
The Council was notified of the Household Support Fund on 6 October. Provision of the usual advance notice prior to the decision being taken on allocation of funding would therefore be likely to cause those eligible unnecessary hardship over the October half term as the Council will be looking to process half term food and essential household utility vouchers in advance of the October half term holiday period.
There is also a need to immediately implement the decision requiring a waiver of call-in to enable the Fund to be implemented and distributed as soon as possible in order to support the most vulnerable residents.
