Headteacher of Kingsbury High School raised issues that he is confronting daily for his student body.   These were;

 

  • Restrictions on the speed of vehicles outside the school
  • Need for a crossing on Princess Avenue and Stag Lane
  • Level of crime on Kingsbury High Rd which has affected pupils at the end of school involving drug dealing and robbery

Resident made the point that congestion on Kingsbury Rd has increased greatly as the road narrows to one lane.  This needs to be reviewed particularly when vehicles decide to carry our U-turns

Resident felt that Kingsbury has become very dirty and with the bins needing a radical overhaul as they are either vandalised, not emptied and are not fox proof

Resident made the point that many of the benches in the district are falling apart and need urgent repair.  He highlighted the benches on Roe Green Park, Fairfield Crescent bus stop as key examples that required urgent attention

Resident highlighted a scheme that Brent could adopt from Barnet council around their Tree planting scheme

Resident highlighted concerns he has in the area around road safety in the area and highlighted Princess Avenue and Kingsbury Rd as hot spots with Bacon Lane creating parking nuisance.

A number of residents in the meeting raised issues around Roe Green Park being degenerated and the need to refresh the Children’s Play area and maintain the grounds which will allow children to play sports, adults to walk and exercise and the lack of sports provision in Roe Green Park.  Residents also raised the point that events such as fun fairs were running the park, and grass is not recovering in time

 

 

Parks Officer was present at the forum and community Engagement Team to escalate this directly to the Parks Team

Resident asked if the council could keep us abreast of developments with particular reference to Service Roads

Resident raised the issue of Colindale Town Centre becoming a degenerated area which has been neglected.  He said the town had a high level of gambling shops, open drug taking, alcohol consumption and general ASB in the area
