Our Response

Residents raised concerns about the footpath leading into Roe Green Park from Kingsbury Road remains wet and difficult to walk on. Pedestrians are diverting onto the grass to pass through, which may cause further ground damage and accessibility concerns.

Response from: Parks & Green Infrastructure

Roe Green path – we are in the process of obtaining quotes from contractors to formalise the pedestrian desire line from Kingsbury Road to the Walled Garden.  We will provide further updates when we know that the quotes are affordable and actionable.

A query was raised regarding the future of the lodge located in Roe Green Park. The question concerns what is planned for the building.

Response from: Property & Assets

The current status of the lodge is that the long leasehold arrangement remains in place. Any actions regarding the operation or reopening of the building rest with the leaseholder who I believes has intentions to reopen.

Residents had concerns about Brampton Road pavements which are in severe disrepair, causing frequent falls, especially among elderly and disabled residents.

Previous petitions and engagement with the council and MPs have not resulted in improvements. Safety concerns include injuries and fatalities linked to pavement condition. Also, Brampton Road is a one-way street, but vehicles and motorbikes frequently travel in the wrong direction at high speed which increase the risk for school children and elderly pedestrians. Residents getting verbal abuse when residents challenge drivers.

Response from: Highways Management and Healthy Streets & Parking

Brampton Road disrepair: Brampton Road is inspected annually each April. On the last inspection in April 2025 the inspector noted that although the “area would benefit from a weed spray”, there were no investigation level defects present at the time.

In the last two years there have been,

95 investigation level defects raised of which,

·       74 were completed

·       3 are on order for repair

·       18 were not prioritised for repair (medium priority)

66 customer reports raised relating to highway defects.

This year 2025/26, an extra £4.8m will be spent on renewing 7 miles of pavements.

However, as there are 529 miles of pavements in the Borough, underpinning all this is the fact that there are many more pavements that we would like to reconstruct, than there is funding available to do them. Although Brampton Road is not on our current programme for pavement reconstruction, it will be considered along with other streets in the borough for future programmes. It should be noted we will be arranging for new condition data of our network later this year, in preparation of drafting our provisional 2026/27 Planned Maintenance programme that will be presented to Cabinet in April / May 2026 for  ...  view the full minutes text for item 1.
