To request authority to award a contract for construction works required to deliver the Brent Children’s Care Home.
Decision:
That the Director of Property & Assets:
i) approves the award of a contract for the construction works required to deliver the Brent Children’s Care Home to R Benson Property Management for £316,411.
Reasons for the decision:
The council requires the provision of
construction works to deliver the Brent Children’s Care Home.
It has been determined that the most appropriate means of providing
the construction works is through the appointment of a main
contractor.
Alternative options considered:
Officers have considered whether the
construction works required to deliver the Brent Children’s
Care Home Project can be provided by the council itself but have
concluded that works is best provided by a contractor as the
council does not have the in-house provision to do so.
Officers have reviewed a range of procurement options including the
use of frameworks but consider that a tender process is the most
appropriate means of procuring a contractor.
