That the Director of Property and Assets:
i) Approves entering into a contract for demolition works at 381-397 Edgware Road, Colindale, London, NW9 with Higgins Partnerships 1961 Plc at a contract price of £494,402.48.
Reasons for the decision:
The Council wishes to proceed with demolition works at 381-397 Edgware Road, Colindale, London, NW9 to be undertaken by Higgins Partnership 1961 following their completion of the pre-construction services for the Edgware Road redevelopment project. It will provide continuity, efficient and consistent delivery of the project and will enable the Council to manage any financial risk that may arise from engaging a different contractor to carry out the demolition works.
Alternative options considered:
Officers have considered retendering the demolition contract, but in order to limit potential delays it is proposed to enter into a contract with Higgins Partnership 1961 Plc based on their updated tender and their knowledge of the site gained through pre-contract services agreement.
