To request approval to award a contract for roof replacement works as required by Contract Standing Orders 88 and 89.
Decision:
That the Corporate Director Finance and Resources:
i) Approves the award of a contract for Brentfield Primary School roof replacement works to Amber Construction Ltd for £399,318.05.
Reasons for the decision:
The Council requires the provision of roof replacement works at Brentfield Primary School. Council officers have undertaken a procurement exercise using the LHC Framework Agreement for Roofing Systems and Associated Works and identified Amber Construction Ltd as the contractor providing the most economically advantageous offer in accordance with the relevant evaluation criteria.
Alternative options considered:
Officers reviewed a range of procurement options, including conducting a tender process, but concluded that the use of the Framework was the most appropriate means of procuring a contractor given the reduction in timescales, costs and resources involved.
