Purpose:
To seek approval from the Strategic Director for Regeneration & Environment, following consultation with the Lead Member for Community Safety & Engagement, to the formal adoption of a Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) to cover all Brent Parks, Open Spaces, Graveyards and Cemeteries following the Cabinet decision on 9 September 2019.
Decision:
That the Strategic Director for Regeneration & Environment, following consultation with the Lead Member for Community Safety:
(1) Confirm the introduction and implementation of the PSPO for Brent Parks, Open Spaces, Graveyeards and Cemeteries for a period of three years.
(2) Confirm the agreed implementation date of 17 September 2019.
(3) Note, in confirming the above decision, the proposed area and other relevant maps for the PSPO targeting a range of different anti-social behaviour (ASB),the evidence supporting the PSPO, the consultation responses and the equalities impact assessment.
Reasons for the decision:
Cabinet, in approving the introduction and implementation of the PSPO, delegated authority to the Strategic Director for Regeneration and Environment, in consultation with the Lead Member for Community Safety and Engagement, to set the date on which the PSPO would become effective and in force.
Alternative options considered:
The decision to implement the borough wide PSPO has been based on consideration of the supporting evidence, consultation and legal requirements set out in the report to Cabinet on 9 September 19.
