Purpose:
In consultation with the Lead Member for Children’s Safeguarding, Early Help and Social Care, the Director of Finance and Director of Legal, HR, Audit & Investigations the Strategic Director, Children & Young People to approve the terms and enter into a Partnership Agreement between Brent and the three other boroughs involved in Adopt West London.
Decision:
The Strategic Director, Children and Young People, in consultation with the Lead Member for Children’s Safeguarding, Early Help and Social Care, the Director of Finance and the Director of Legal, HR, Audit & Investigations, agreed the final terms of the Partnership Agreement for a Regional Adoption Agency (as detailed in the accompanying decision report) between the four West London Authorities of Brent, Ealing, Hounslow and Hammersmith and Fulham.

Cabinet/Committee Decision or Scheme of Delegation: Cabinet gave approval in April 2019 for Brent council to: a) Join the RAA that will consist of the London boroughs of Ealing, Hounslow and Hammersmith and Fulham for the provision of Adoption services and Special Guardianship Support; and b) Delegate authority to the Strategic Director, Children and Young People, in consultation with the Lead Member for Children’s Safeguarding, Early Help and Social Care to agree and enter into a Partnership Agreement with participating boroughs.
