Purpose:

To request authority to award a contract for the Embedded Youth Violence Hospital Workers Programme.

Decision:

That the Corporate Director Children, Young People and Community Development:

 

i)               Approves the award of the contract for the Embedded Youth Violence Hospital Workers Programme from April 2026 – March 2028 in the sum of £275,239.36 excluding VAT to St Giles Trust.

Reasons for the decision:

The Council requires the provision of the Embedded Youth Violence Hospital Workers Programme. Council officers have undertaken a procurement exercise and identified St Giles Trust as the contractor providing the most economically advantageous offer in accordance with agreed evaluation criteria, and therefore recommend award of a contract for the Embedded Youth Violence Hospital Workers Programme to this provider.

Alternative options considered:

Officers have considered whether the Embedded Youth Violence Hospital Workers Programme can be provided by the Council itself but have concluded that Embedded Youth Violence Hospital Workers programme is best provided by a provider.

 

Officers have reviewed a range of procurement options, including the use of frameworks, but consider that a tender process is the most appropriate means of procuring a contract.

Parties Consulted: The Contextual Safeguarding, Violence Reducation Strategic Group has been consulted on the need to recommission services and areas of priority need. Public consultation on the Safer Brent Strategy 2024-2026 also included consideration of commissioned services and understanding priorities/needs.
