Authority to award contract for roof replacement works at Anson and Newfield Primary Schools, drainage works at Roe Green Infant and Junior School, and window replacement works at Mora Primary School (non-key officer recordable decision)
Decision Maker: Director - Property and Assets
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
To request authority to award a contract for roof and window replacement works at Anson Primary School and roof perimeter works at Newfield Primary School, drainage works at Roe Green Infant & Junior School, and window replacement works at Mora Primary School.
Decision:
That the Director – Property and Assets:
i) Approves the award of a contract for the roof replacement works at Anson Primary School and roof perimeter works at Newfield Primary School, drainage works at Roe Green Infant and Junior School, and window replacement works at Mora Primary School for £458,436.62 to Amber Construction Services Ltd.
Reasons for the decision:
The Council requires the provision of roof and window replacement works at Anson Primary School, roof perimeter capping at Newfield Primary School, drainage improvement works at Roe Green Infant and Junio School to address leaks, and roof access improvement works at Mora Primary School. Officers have undertaken a procurement exercise using the LHC Frameworks Agreement for Roofing Systems and Associated Works and identified Amber Construction Services Ltd as the contractor providing the most economically advantageous offer in accordance with relevant evaluation criteria, and officers therefore recommend award of the contract for these works to Amber Construction Services Ltd.
Alternative options considered:
Alternatives to the approach for the procurement and appointment of the contractors were considered. The specific work packages for the project could have been tendered individually, but this option was discounted as it would not offer economies of scale that grouping the works together provides.
Interests and Nature of Interests Declared:
None.
Wards Affected: Cricklewood & Mapesbury; Queensbury; Roundwood;
Cabinet/Committee Decision or Scheme of Delegation: Officer scheme of delegation - non key officer recordable decision.
