To request approval to awward a contract in respect of the refurbishment for the Freeman Family Centre.
Decision:
That the Director Property and Assets:
i) Approves the award of contract for the Refurbishment of the Freeman Family Centre to Ash Special Works Limited at a contract sum of £423,866.88.
Reasons for the decision:
The Council requires the refurbishment of the Freeman Family Centre. Council Officers undertook a procurement exercise and identified Ash Special Works Limited as the contractor providing the most economically advantageous offer in accordance with agreed evaluation criteria and therefore recommend award of contract to Ash Special Works Limited.
Alternative options considered:
Officers considered whether the Freeman Family Centre refurbishment works could be provided by the Council itself but concluded that the refurbishment and mitigation works were best provided by a contractor with the specialist skillset required.
Officers reviewed a range of procurement options including the use of frameworks but considered that a closed tender process was the most appropriate means of procuring a contractor for the project.
