Purpose:
To request authority to extend a contract in respect of Supported Living Services at 3 Salmon Street with Lifeways Community Care Limited.
Decision:
That the Corporate Director Community Health and Wellbeing:
I) Approves the extension of the contract for Supported Living Services for Adults with Learning Disabilities at 3 Salmon Street with Lifeways Community Care Limited for a period of 12 months.
Reasons for the decision:
The Council entered into a contract for Supported Living Services for Adults with Learning Disabilities at 3 Salmon Street with Lifeway Community Care Limited on 1 April 2022.
The contract contained provision permitting extension of the Contract by two years on a 1+1 basis. The proposed extension would utilise the first option to extend the contract. Officers consider extending the contract by 12 months will achieve best value for the Council and is reasonable in all the circumstances.
Alternative options considered:
Officers considered whether to re-procure the services but concluded that using the existing provision to extend within the contract with the current provider was the most appropriate option. There are currently no concerns relating to this provider and an extension would ensure continuity of service to current residents.
Interests and Nature of Interests Declared:
None.
Wards Affected: Barnhill;
Cabinet/Committee Decision or Scheme of Delegation: Officer scheme of delegation - non-key recordable officer decision
