To request authority to award a contract for Debt Advice Services.
Decision:
That the Corporate Director Partnerships, Housing and Resident Services:
i) Approves the award of contract for Debt Advice Services for an initial three year period with a potential 2 year extension on a 1+1 basis in the sum of £495,775.00 to Citizens Advice Bureau, trading as Citizens Advice Brent.
Reasons for the decision:
The Council requires the provision of Debt Advice Services. Council officers have undertaken a procurement exercise and identified Citizens Advice Bureau, trading as Citizens Advice Brent, as the contractor providing the most economically advantageous offer in accordance with agreed evaluation criteria and therefore recommend award to this contractor.
Alternative options considered:
Officers have considered whether the Debt Advice Services could be provided by the Council itself but concluded that Debt Advice Services were best provided by a contractor.
Officers reviewed a range of procurement options, including the use of frameworks, but considered a tender process the most appropriate means of procuring the contract.
