Purpose:
To request authority to award a contract to carry out roof replacement works at Newfield Primary School and Salusbury Primary School, and rainwater good repair works at Harlesden Primary School.
Decision:
That the Director of Property and Assets:
i) Approves the award of contract for roof replacement works at Newfield Primary School and Salusbury Primary School, and rainwater good repair works at Harlesden Primary School for a period of six weeks for the sum of £283,693.19 to Amber Construction Services Ltd.
Reasons for the decision:
The Council requires the provision of roof replacement works at Newfield Primary School and Salusbury Primary School and rainwater good repair works at Harlesden Primary School.
Council officers have undertaken a procurement exercise using the LHC Frameworks Agreement for Roofing Systems an Associated Works (the “Framework”), and identified Amber Construction Ltd as the contractor providing the most economically advantageous offer in accordance with relevant evaluation criteria and therefore recommend award of a contract for roof replacement works at Newfield Primary School and Salusbury Primary School, and rainwater good repair works at Harlesden Primary School(the “Contract”) to this contractor.

Officers have considered whether the roof replacement works at Newfield Primary School and Salusbury Primary School, and rainwater good repair works at Harlesden Primary Schoolcan be provided by the council itself but have concluded that roof replacement works at Newfield Primary School and Salusbury Primary School, and rainwater good repair works at Harlesden Primary Schoolis best provided by a contractor.
Officers have reviewed a range of procurement options including conducting a tender process but have concluded that the use of the Framework is the most appropriate means of procuring a contractor given the reduction in timescales, costs and resources involved.
