To request authority to award a contract for a main contractor to undertake works in respect to the refurbishment of WC’s on Ground Floor at Brent Civic Centre.
Decision:
That the Director Property and Assets:
i) Approves the award of contract for refurbishment of WCs on Ground Floor at Brent Civic Centre for works to be completed over the period of six (6) weeks in the sum of £278,811 to Focus DGI Ltd, trading as Focus Washrooms.
Reasons for the decision:
The Council requires the contractor to
undertake refurbishment works to upgrade WC’s on the Ground
floor of Brent Civic Centre. Council Officers have undertaken a
procurement exercise and identified Focus DGI Ltd as the contractor
providing the most economically advantageous offer in accordance
with agreed evaluation criteria and therefore recommend award of a
contract for refurbishment works to upgrade WC’s on the
Ground floor of Brent Civic Centre (the Contract”) to this
contractor.
Alternative options considered:
Officers considered whether the refurbishment works to upgrade WCs on the Ground Floor of Brent Civic Centre could be provided by the Council itself but concluded that refurbishment of public toilets was best provided by a contractor.
Officers reviewed a range of procurement options, including the use of frameworks, but considered that a tender process was the most appropriate means of procuring the contract and would allow more local suppliers the opportunity to tender.
