Purpose:
To request authority to use a framework to procure an agreement for Microsoft Azure for the London Boroughs of Brent, Lewisham and Southwark.
Decision:
That the Corporate Director Finance and Resources:
i) Approves inviting bids under the Y20011 – KCS Professional Services Software Products and Associated Services 2 Framework for Microsoft Azure cloud services for the London Boroughs of Brent, Lewisham and Southwark, on the basis of the pre-tender considerations.
ii) Approves officers evaluating bids on the basis of the evaluation criteria.
Reasons for the decision:
All three Shared Technology Services partners – the London Boroughs of Brent, Lewisham and Southwark use Microsoft Azure for a range of cloud services, including compute, analytics, storage and networking.
The contract will provide the Shared Technology Service partners with access to the required cloud services from 1 March 2023 to 28 February 2026.
Alternative options considered:
Other means of procuring the contract were considered by officers in Shared Technology Services but it was determined that the use of a framework, rather than procuring via formal tender, was the best option in terms of the reduction in time-scales, costs and resources involved.
