To request authoritiy to vary and extend a contract for Supported Living Services for people with sensory impairment at Clement Close with Sense.

That the Director of Adult Social Care:

i)             Approves the variation of contract for Supported Living Services for people with sensory impairment at Clement Close with Sense.

ii)            Approves the extension of the Contract for Supported Living Services for people with sensory impairment at Clement Close with Sense from 21 December 2022 to 20 December 2023.

The Contract commenced on 21st December 2018 for 6 years on a 4+1+1 basis.

The Contract contains provision permitting extension of the Contract by a further 2 years on a +1+1 basis. Officers consider extending the contract by 1 year from 21st December 2022 to 20th December 2023 will achieve best value for the Council and is reasonable in all the circumstances.

To ensure continued best value and address under occupancy the contract has recently been varied in consultation with the provider. The variation expands the placement criteria to include people who do not have a sensory impairment, while ensuring the ethos of the service is maintained. The variations also allows for contract payments to better reflect occupancy levels.

Officers considered whether to re-procure the service, but concluded that extending and varying the existing contract provided the most appropriate means of continuing to deliver and ensure continuity of the service at the current time.
