Purpose:
To approve the Project Business Case for the
new SEND School at London Road.
Decision:
That the Strategic Director Regeneration and Environment, in consultation with the Strategic Director Children and Young People and the Lead Member for Children, Young People and Schools:
i) Approves the London Road SEND School project business case as described in the accompanying report.
ii) Approves the project budget of £20m capital funding to deliver the project.
iii) Notes that the final decision on the provider of the new school, following the DfE Free School Presumption Route process, will be made by the Regional Schools Commissioner on behalf of the Secretary of State for Education.
