Authority to Tender Contract for Ground Floor WC Refurbishment at Brent Civic Centre (Officer Recordable Decision)
Decision Maker: Director - Property and Assets
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
To request approval to invite tenders in respect of refurbmishment of WCs on Brent Civic Centre ground floor as required by Contract Standing Orders 88 and 89.
Decision:
That the Operational Director Property and Assets:
i) Approves inviting tenders for refurbishment of WCs on ground floor at Brent Civic Centre on the basis of the pre-tender considerations.
ii) Approves officers evaluating tenders on the basis of the evaluation criteria.
Reasons for the decision:
The Council requires a contractor to undertake refurbishment works to upgrade WCs on the ground floor of Brent Civic Centre. It has been determined that the most appropriate means of providing the works in through the procurement of a contractor by way of a tender process.
Alternative options considered:
Officers have considered whether the refurbishment works could be provided by the Council itself but have concluded that the works are best provided by a contractor. Officers reviwed a range of procuement options including the use of frameworks but consider that a tender process is the most appropriate means of provuring a contractor as the value of the works is small and Brent would want to promote more local suppliers via open tendering process.
