Authority to award a contract for Microsoft Licences for the Local Government Association (Recordable Officer Decision)
Decision Maker: Strategic Director - Customer and Digital Services
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
To request authority to award a contract for Microsoft Licenses for the Local Government Association (LA), following the completion of procurement and evaluation of tenders.
Decision:
That the Strategic Director Customer and Digital Services:
i) Approves the award of contract for Microsoft Licenses for the Local Government Association (LGA) to Bytes Software Services Ltd.
Reasons for the decision:
The Local Government Association (LGA) requires the provision of Microsoft Licences in order to carry out its normal business functions. Council officers undertook a procurement exercise and identified Bytes Software Services Ltd as the contractor providing the most economically advantageous offer, in accordance with the agreed evaluation criteria. Officers therefore recommend award to this contractor.
Alternative options considered:
Officers reviewed a range of procurement options including the use of a tender process but consider that awarding following a further competition from a framework is the most appropriate means of procuring a contractor.
Interests and Nature of Interests Declared:
None.
Cabinet/Committee Decision or Scheme of Delegation: Officer scheme of delegation
Parties Consulted: The LGA has been consulted in relation to this procurement.
