Decision Maker: Director - Adult Social Care
Decision status: Recommendations Approved
Is Key decision?: Yes
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
To seek authority in accordance with Contract Standing Order 112 for Brent Council to extend a contract for 63 Manor Drive and 54 Beechcroft Gardens for the period of 12 months, as provided for in the contractual agreement.
Decision:
That the Operational Director of Adult Social Care:
i) Approves an extension to the current contract with Dimensions for a period of 12 months from 1 April 2021 to 31 March 2022.
Reasons for the decision:
The extension for twelve months will ensure that the vulnerable service users will not experience any unnecessary disruption in service delivery. The Council, service users and their families have no concerns with the provider and the quality of the service provided is considered good. The option to extend also offers better value for money to the Council.
Alternative options considered:
Officers considered whether the 24 hour supported living service for adults with learning disabilities should be re-procured when the initial contract date expires, but concluded that exercising the option to extend the existing contract is the most appropriate option.
Interests and Nature of Interests Declared:
None.
