Decision:
To approve the supporting policies that
accompany the application to the Gambling Commission as part of the
Brent Community Lottery following the decision made by Cabinet (17
June 19) to establish a local authority run Lottery called the
Brent Community Lottery with delegation granted to the Assistant
Chief Executive (following consultation with the Portfolio Holder
for Public Health, Culture & Leisure - given their remit in
relation to Voluntary Sector Liaison and Development), to agree the
necessary policies and procedures.
Reasons for the decision:
To enable the Council to fulfil the conditions
for obtaining a licence from the Gambling Commission and the
process for the allocation of the lottery central fund
income.
Alternative options considered:
The policies are a requirement of the
council’s application to the Gambling Commission and as such
no alternative options were considered.
