Purpose:
To give approval to invite the final year of a three year Leasehold Property insurance service contract as the current contract will expire on 31 October 2013. Leasehold Property insurance is specialist cover required by law; it is specified in the lease agreement between the council and the leaseholders that this cover must be provided by Brent to the lessee until they have paid-off their mortgage, covering the main structure of the building, communal areas etc not covered by the leaseholders own insurance. The cost will be included in the annual service charges to leaseholders with the aim to be self-funding and revenue neutral.
Decision:
(i) that approval be given to to the pre - tender considerations and the criteria to be used to evaluate tenders for the Council’s Leaseholder Property Insurance Services as set out in paragraph 3.10 of the report from the Director of Finance and Corporate Services;
(ii) that approval be given to officers inviting expressions of interests, agreeing shortlists, inviting tenders in respect of the Council’s Leaseholder Property Insurance Services contract and their evaluation in accordance with the approved evaluation criteria referred to in (i) above.
