This decision will be taken under urgency procedures.
Reason for urgency:
The Household Support Fund extension was confirmed in the Government’s Spring Statement on 23 March and communicated to the Council on the 31 March. In order make use of the new funding from 1 April 2022, a decision has to be taken sooner than the 28 days’ notice required for the item on the Forward Plan as a key decision. The primary reason for urgency is to enable the Council to begin to distribute the fund to support residents and the most vulnerable households as soon as possible due to unprecedented rising costs of living. Implementation of the scheme will also require a waiver of the call-in requirement.
