To agree investment in the leasing and acquisition of additional independent living accommodation for Adult Social Care as an alternative to residential care, and to provide a more balanced and sustainable savings profile.

The proposed accommodation investment includes:
• The use of 3 year leases to secure 3 properties to provide 24 units of accommodation at a total cost of £327,500 per annum for people with mental health support needs
• A budget of £19.65M for the purchase and modification of private residential properties to provide an additional 90 units of accommodation for people with mental health support needs and learning disabilities
• The use of the Council-owned supported housing properties at 73 & 80 Wembley Park Drive, with a budget of £880,000 to refurbish the buildings to provide a specialised service suitable for high needs customers with dementia and physical disabilities.
