Invest not Divest
We the undersigned petition the council to call on Brent Council’s Pension Fund Sub- Committee to invest in any company wherever in the world they may be so as to obtain the best possible return of those investments for the benefit of Brent Council’s pensioners.We call upon the Council to reject the petition presented to the Council on the 19th September 2024 by the Brent and Harrow Palestine Solidarity Campaign.Those who have signed this petition feel it is misleading, divisive and anti-Semitic.We consider that the Council has a fiduciary duty to ensure that the pension funds are properly managed and are free of interference from political views and influences.We call upon Brent Council to heed the words of the Mayor of Brent and let us spread peace and harmony in our brilliant borough.
There are many residents, students and businesses who want Brent's Pension Fund Sub -Committee to invest in companies that will yield a good return on the funds' investments.
