Urgent Action Needed: Unsafe Pavements, Fly-Tipping, and Neglected Streets in Ridge Close, Ridgeway, and Larkway
We the undersigned petition the council to Petition Statement:
We, the residents of Ridge Close, Ridgeway, Larkway, and the surrounding area, call on Brent Council to take urgent action to improve the condition of our streets.
For years, our area has been neglected. The pavements are uneven, broken, and unsafe — creating a serious risk for pedestrians, especially older residents, children, and people with disabilities. On top of this, our streets are constantly dirty, with fly-tipping happening on a regular basis and rubbish often left uncollected for days.
There is also not a single tree on our streets, which makes the area feel bare, forgotten, and uncared for. We believe every neighbourhood in Brent deserves clean, safe, and pleasant streets — not to be left behind.
We therefore call on Brent Council to:
1. Inspect and urgently repair the pavements on Ridge Close, Ridgeway, and Larkway.
2. Address the ongoing fly-tipping and street cleanliness issues by increasing monitoring, enforcement, and cleaning frequency
These issues have been ongoing for several years, with little
visible maintenance or improvement despite previous reports to the
council.
Improving pavement safety and adding trees will also support Brent
Council’s sustainability goals by encouraging walking and
improving air quality and wellbeing in our neighbourhood.
