Environment Agency - Verbal Report

Representatives of the Environment Agency are invited to provide a verbal update to the committee on matters affecting the Welsh Harp.

Planning Issues

The committee is asked to consider and discuss any planning issues affecting the Welsh Harp.

Update on activities in the Welsh Harp

It was noted that weed growth had been contained and that the regular activity plan had kept the water fresh, enabling its free flow.

Longer term plan was required for the marshland. As discussed within the management plan, willow growth was exceeding management work on the shoreline and due to scrub encroachment the area of marshland had reduced by 0.3 ha.

Members were encouraged to send any updates on issues pertaining to Welsh Harp to the Chair or the Governance Services Officer (Joe Kwateng) so that they can be highlighted in Brent Magazine.

Any other urgent business

No business other than that appearing on the agenda shall be transacted at the meeting unless the Chair decides that it is urgent. Any member of the committee wishing to raise an item of urgent business should provide sufficient notice to permit consideration by the Chair.
