Purpose:
To request authority to extend a contract in respect of Integrated Asset Management, Planned and Cyclical Maintenance Works and Responsive Repairs Maintenance Works contract with Wates Construction Limited as required by Contract Standing Order 112.
Decision:
That the Operational Director Housing:
i) Approves the extension to the current contract for Integreated Asset Management, Planned and Cyclical Maintenance Works and Responsive Repairs Maintenance Works contract with Wates Construction Limited for a period of 5 weeks from 1 July 2022.
Reasons for the decision:
The Council entered into a contract for Integrated Asset Management, Planned and Cyclical Maintenance Works and Responsive Repairs Maintenance Works with Wates Construction Limited on 1 October 2014. The contract contains provision permitting extension of the contract to 30 September 2024. Officers consider extending the contract by 5 weeks will enable further discussions with the contractor concerning a longer term extension.
Alternative options considered:
No alternative options were considered as the contract allows for extension. Preparations are commencing for the re-procurement of the services included in the contract and until the preparations have been concluded officers consider it appropriate to extend the contract.
