COVID-19 transport response and emergency measures
To outline and seek approval (under the Chief Executives emergency decision making powers) on the proposed transport response to COVID-19, looking at the effect on transport in the borough and plans to introduce measures in the short, medium and longer term.

Reason for urgency:
This decision will be taken in light of the current outbreak of the Corona Virus – COVID-19, and the need to implement emergency footway widening measures to enable safe social distancing in town centres and other priority areas in the borough. The measures were discussed and agreed by the Policy Coordination Group on 11th May 2020.
An urgent need to implement footway widening to support safe social distancing has been identified. A delay in the decision may result in a delay in the Council purchasing the necessary equipment and implementing the emergency measures identified.
Any delay to the implementation of the emergency measures supports would be detrimental to public safety and public health.
