Oppose construction of 258 flats at 370 High Road and 54-68 Dudden Hill Lane
We believe that 258 flats are far too many. The flats will be 1 to 3 bedroom apartments to house 2 to 5 residents each. This equates to 860 new residents on a small plot of land. There have only been 66 car parking spaces assigned to the plot and no consideration has been made to the sudden influx of people requiring GPs, primary school places and other already strained amenities. Vehicular access to the site will be from Dudden Hill Lane which already suffers from congestion and gridlock. The proposed supermarket and gym on-site will only add to the traffic issues in the area.
We strongly encourage the council to reject the current proposals and hold an open consultation inviting all members of the community to discuss this development to find an achievable plan to regenerate the area.
