Decision details
Authority to Tender for Funeral Services Contract with London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (Recordable Officer Decision)
Decision Maker: Director - Public Realm
Decision status: For Determination
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: No
Purpose:
To seek approval for the submission of a tender for the provision of funeral services to the London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (the Trust).
Although the submission of the tender does not in itself require operational director approval, if the tender is accepted by the Trust there will automatically be a binding contract between the Council and the Trust.
Decision:
That the Operational Director of Environment Services:
i) Approves the submission of a tender for the provision of funeral services to London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust
ii) Agrees that, if the tender submitted by the Council is successful, the Council enter into the Contract with London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust for the provision of funeral services.
Reasons for the decision:
The Trust has published an invitation to tender using the open procedure for the provision of funeral services. Officers consider that if the Council is successful in winning the tender; the provision of the services to the Trust would add resilience to the Council’s service by enabling employment of additional staff and acquisition of additional vehicles as the service grows.
Alternative options considered:
The alternative option would be to not submit a tender services, however, officers consider that providing the services to the Trust would add resilience to the Council’s service through potential expansion of the service.
Interests and Nature of Interests Declared:
None.
