Document Extension of Sexual Health Contracts
Key Decisions Taken:
To approve the extension of the Genitourinary Medicine (GUM) services contract with London North West Healthcare NHS Trust for up to four months 1 April 2017 to 31st 2017.
To approve the extension of the Contraception and Sexual Health (Cash) services contract with Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust for up to four months 1 April 2017 to 31st July 2017.
Non Key Decisions Taken:
To approve an extension to the Contract with the incumbent service provider Terence Higgins Trust (“THT”) for Chlamydia screening and testing services for a period of one to four months from 1st April 2017, subject to one month’s notice period. There is provision for an extension period within this contract.
To approve an extension to the Contract with the incumbent service provider Terence Higgins Trust (“THT”) for HIV prevention services for a period of one to four months from 1st April 2017, subject to one months notice period. There is provision for an extension period within this contract.
To approve an extension to the Contract with the incumbent service provider Addaction for Young persons substance misuse and sexual health services for a period of one to four months from 1st April 2017, subject to one months notice period. There is provision for an extension period within this contract.
Reasons for Urgency (less than 5 days notice):
It is urgent that the decision is taken to approve the extensions to the contracts so that written confirmation of extension terms can be provided to the incumbent service providers which need time to make arrangements with their workforce to continue to provide these essential sexual health related services, which include some mandated public health services.
The agreement of the Chair of the Community and Wellbeing Scrutiny Committee was obtained in making the Key Decisions and an urgent notice specifying this was published on the Council's website on 2 March (morning).
